GBS Revisited

Visited my high school, Gandaki Boarding School (GBS), in May earlier this year. I had last been there more than 12 years back, just a month before I first left for Japan.

So many changes. Most of the teachers who taught me have either left or retired. Those who remain surprised me with grey-hair. I could see many young teachers – most of them younger than myself. The number of students seems to be significantly higher as there are more sections. The bars in hostel somehow looked weird. The roofs — of all the buildings- hostels, dining hall, and the gymnasium — seriously need repairing; the brown roofs make them look very old.

There is a new building for the Gandaki College of Engineering and Sciences (GCES) in the farm area where we grew corns and planted oranges in our Agriculture class. Of course, those trees are gone.

Enjoy some pictures from my trip.

  1. Hello Suresh,
Thanks for the comment. It was great being there. But lost connection to almost everyone and had little time to spend. So could not meet any friends, including you.

  2. hey kumar, its so nostalgic. the hostel looks so small and I wonder how we squeezed in those buildings. thanks for the pictures.
